She Got Arrested

Having released their third studio record, Fight the Good Fight almost a year ago, Los Angeles ska-punk band The Interrupters have been out on the road on their first headlining tour this year, and recently stopped off at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco for a sold-out show, proving to the packed house that they are most certainly ready to take it to the next level.

Opening their 90 minutes, 17 song set with "A Friend Like Me," the energy of The Interrupters was infectious from the word go, with vocalist Aimee Interrupter as engaging as always, as she acknowledged the fans in the front row, smiling and reaching out to them, making sure they were all having a good time. Brother Kevin (guitar) and Justin (bass) Bivona also had plenty of energy, as they jumped off of their road cases and covered the entire stage. The setlist included a healthy dose of songs from their latest release, and highlights included "Take Back the Power," "White Noise," "She Got Arrested," and "Gave You Everything."

Of course, there were a couple of covers by the Bay Area punk bands that influenced them, including Rancid's "Time Bomb," and Operation Ivy's "Sound System." By the time they wrapped up their set with "Family," there was no doubt that they The Interrupters are only going towards the top, and there doesn't seem to be much stopping them.

Support on this show came from San Francisco pop-punk bands Masked Intruder and The Bombpops, who each put on highly energetic sets of their own, and proved to be the perfect openers, and made it a fun night indeed.
